Department of Education Issues New Interim Guidance on Campus Sexual Misconduct

SEPTEMBER 22, 2017 (WASHINGTON INSIDER ALERT) - Today, the Department of Education announced it was rescinding sexual assault guidance issued by the Obama administration and issuing an interim question-and-answer document for schools on how to investigate and adjudicate allegations of campus sexual misconduct under federal law.

The interim guidance is intended to remain in place as the Department engages in notice-and-comment rulemaking regarding Title IX responsibilities arising from complaints of sexual misconduct.

We will keep an eye on these developments and provide more information as we know more.
