The results from the survey can help institutions understand retention trends and the factors that have the biggest impact on employee retention in the higher ed workplace.

2025 CUPA-HR Higher Education Employee Retention Survey
The 2025 survey is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s survey a success! We received over 5,000 responses from more than 500 institutions.
Previous Reports
The Employee Retention Survey was also conducted in 2022 and 2023 as a response to the retention challenges higher ed has faced in the wake of the pandemic. The results suggest specific actions that employers and leaders can take to make higher ed a better workplace.
