Every system of higher ed institutions operates a little differently, especially when it comes to providing data for CUPA-HR’s signature surveys. This page provides guidance on how to assign data providers and manage survey participation across your system.
Defining an Institutional System
CUPA-HR defines an institution, or postsecondary institution, as an institution which has as its sole purpose or one of its primary missions the provision of postsecondary education — and reports to The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) hosted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). An institutional system consists of two or more postsecondary institutions under the control or supervision of a single administrative body. Source: IPEDS.
Why Should the Institutions in Your System Participate in CUPA-HR’s Surveys?
Participating in CUPA-HR surveys results in richer data, better benchmarking, and deep discounts on DataOnDemand (DOD) subscriptions. To ensure that the institutions in your system can be classified and benchmarked appropriately, data must be submitted for each individual institution in the system.
The first step in the participation process is to assign data providers who will complete the surveys.
