A Unique Opportunity for CHROs
In today’s challenging higher ed landscape, chief HR officers are providing critical leadership to their institutions and workforce. But who is supporting CHROs in their efforts to lead effectively and with impact? This program is designed to provide personalized, meaningful support by leveraging what makes our association unique: the power of connection and collaboration among higher ed HR leaders.
About the Program
The Navigators program is a personalized, semester-long (fall or spring) virtual initiative focused on your development as a higher ed CHRO. The program is designed to help you feel more connected, focused and relevant in your work and in your role by building relationships with others who have similar CHRO experiences. A dedicated CUPA-HR Navigator will serve as your main point of contact, helping you access insights, resources and support from across the higher ed HR community.
Audience: Higher ed CHROs (this includes the most senior HR professional at the institution, the person who oversees all HR functions even if they have a different title)
When you participate in this initiative, you will be paired with an experienced higher ed HR leader who can help you navigate your role as a higher ed CHRO. Here’s what you can expect:
- The Fall 2026 session will take place mid-August to mid-December. The Spring 2027 session will take place mid-January to mid-May.
- Four monthly meetings will be scheduled during the semester by you and your assigned CUPA-HR Navigator.
- Discussions with your Navigator will cover important topics that support the content of your monthly meetings.
- Access to the CHRO group in Connect, CUPA-HR’s online member community, will allow you to collaborate with other higher ed CHROs to discuss challenges, share ideas and access collective knowledge.
Participant Commitment
Navigator program participants will commit to the following upon registering:
- Meeting virtually with your Navigator for one hour each month
- Communicating regularly with your Navigator to schedule monthly meetings
- Providing advance notice to your Navigator if you are unable to meet at the designated time, and taking the initiative to reschedule the meeting with your Navigator
- Arriving prepared at each monthly meeting to explore topics that resonate for your leadership
- Completing the program evaluation at the end of the semester
