AI is revolutionizing the way people work and the way HR works. Join us as we explore AI through a higher ed HR lens, including regulatory implications for HR, emerging uses for AI across campus, and examples and insights from higher ed HR teams already using AI. The Higher Ed HR Accelerator is a virtual event featuring three sessions that will boost your knowledge on the topic and give you the jump start you need to implement what you’ve learned.
EEOC Commissioner Keith Sonderling will engage with CUPA-HR President and CEO Andy Brantley to share his insights on AI and HR by exploring them through a regulatory lens.
Commissioner Sonderling was confirmed by the U.S. Senate, with a bipartisan vote, to be a commissioner on the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in 2020. Prior to his confirmation to the EEOC, he served as the Acting and Deputy Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division at the U.S. Department of Labor. Before joining the DOL in 2017, he practiced labor and employment law in Florida. Since joining the EEOC, one of Commissioner Sonderling’s highest priorities is ensuring that artificial intelligence and workplace technologies are designed and deployed consistent with long-standing civil rights laws. Commissioner Sonderling has published numerous articles on the benefits and potential harms of using artificial intelligence-based technology in the workplace and speaks globally on these emerging issues.
A panel of higher ed chief information officers will provide a broad perspective of AI applications across campus, including challenges and emerging implications for staff, faculty and students. They will also share their own observations and the plans underway at their campuses.
AI is rapidly transforming industries, introducing a new era of efficiency, effectiveness and innovation. As AI continues to evolve, it is augmenting traditional HR processes, from recruitment to talent management and more. In this session, Susan Goldenson, vice president and director of Segal's Innovation Lab, will provide insight into AI’s wide-ranging applications in HR.
In the closing session, a panel of chief HR officers will talk about their current efforts, challenges and opportunities using AI in higher ed HR — from launching chatbots to writing policies to embedding AI in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
