Susan Norton, Vice President for Human Resources at Augusta University, to Serve as Chair-Elect on CUPA-HR Board of Directors

Susan Norton, vice president for human resources at Augusta University, has been selected to serve as chair-elect of the board of directors of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) for the 2019-20 fiscal year. She will then serve as chair of the board during the 2020-21 fiscal year. She will begin her term on July 1.

Norton has been a member of CUPA-HR since 1996, has served on CUPA-HR’s Southern Region board and is currently an at-large member of the CUPA-HR national board. She has also served on CUPA-HR’s research advisory and public policy committees and spent a year as a participant in the Emerging CUPA-HR Leaders program.

“Susan is an outstanding higher education human resources leader,” says CUPA-HR President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Brantley. “I am pleased that her colleagues have selected her as our next chair-elect.”

Norton has worked in human resources for over 20 years, including 16 years at Augusta University, where she led an HR team faced with integrating a health system with one of the nation’s largest and oldest medical schools, consolidating a health sciences university with a liberal arts university, and implementing innovative partnership employment platforms with a global Fortune 500 healthcare technology company. Prior to her current role at Augusta University, she held HR leadership positions at Georgia Southern University.
