Pat Day, Former Senior Director of Employee and Labor Relations at Johns Hopkins University, Receives Honorary Life Membership in CUPA-HR

Pat Day, who retired in November from her position as senior director of employee and labor relations at Johns Hopkins University, has been granted Honorary Life Membership in the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Honorary Life Membership is the highest honor for recognizing retired CUPA-HR members who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the higher education human resources profession and long-term leadership in the association.

Day served in a number of leadership roles in CUPA-HR over a 14-year period. She served on several CUPA-HR region and annual conference program committees, for eight years on the association’s Eastern Region board of directors (including a term as chair and three terms as secretary), for three years on the national board of directors, and on several association committees and task forces. Additionally, as chair of the association’s Knowledge Center Committee in 2004-06, she was instrumental in the creation and roll-out of the CUPA-HR Knowledge Center, a vast online repository of higher ed HR-related toolkits, policies, readings and other resources. She’s also been honored by the association in the past with two awards for distinguished service.

Prior to her retirement in November 2013, Day served in a number of roles on the senior HR management team at Johns Hopkins University for 28 years and worked in higher education human resources for 44 years.
