Erik Smetana, Executive Director of People and Engagement at Vanderbilt University, to Serve on CUPA-HR Board of Directors

Erik Smetana, executive director of people and engagement at Vanderbilt University, has been selected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). He will join the board on July 1.

Smetana has been a member of CUPA-HR for 15 years. He was selected to participate in the Emerging CUPA-HR Leaders program in 2017-18. He has served on the association’s research advisory committee, learning and professional development committee, and ad hoc HR analytics committee.

Smetana joined the HR team at Vanderbilt in 2018. Prior to that role, he served at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Missouri System.
