Donna Popovich, Executive Director of Human Resources at University of Tampa, Receives CUPA-HR’s Distinguished Service Award

Donna Popovich, executive director of human resources at University of Tampa, has received the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) 2014 Distinguished Service Award. This award is given to a CUPA-HR member who has provided outstanding service to the association through constituent activities, such as service in governance or leadership roles, or through professional development contributions in support of the association. Thanks to the generous support of Kronos, CUPA-HR is pleased to offer a $2,000 contribution to University of Tampa’s endowment or a scholarship fund of Popovich’s choice.

Since the year 2000, Popovich has served in various leadership capacities for CUPA-HR, including president of the Florida Chapter, chair of the Southern Region board of directors and member of the national board. She has also served on several association committees and task forces, including the public policy committee, the learning and professional development committee, the membership committee, the international outreach committee and more.

“Donna’s exceptional professionalism, quiet and thoughtful approaches to challenges, and balanced perspectives have helped make CUPA-HR a better organization over the years, and I’m proud to call her a friend and a colleague,” says Barbara Carroll, associate vice chancellor for human resources at North Carolina State University, who nominated Popovich for the award.
