David Blake, Vice President of Administration at the California Western School of Law, Receives Honorary Life Membership in CUPA-HR

David Blake, Ph.D., has received honorary life membership in the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Honorary life membership is the highest honor for recognizing CUPA-HR members who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to the higher education human resources profession and long-term leadership in the association.

Blake, a long-time member of CUPA-HR, has held several leadership and mentorship positions within the association, including positions on the national board of directors, Western Region board, Budget and Finance Committee, Learning and Professional Development Committee, Corporate Advisory Council, and Learning Framework Ad Hoc Group, as well as a term as president of the CUPA-HR Southern California Chapter. He was chair of the national board in 2016-17. He was also a participant in the Emerging CUPA-HR Leaders program from 2011 to 2012, and most recently served as a program guide for the CUPA-HR Wildfire program from 2018 through 2022.

“Dave has been a leader, mentor, expert and friend to everyone that he has interacted with through his long and illustrious participation in CUPA-HR,” shares Mark Coldren, associate vice president of human resources at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Blake has announced his forthcoming retirement from California Western School of Law, where he serves as vice president of administration and manages HR, IT, facilities management, and enterprise and application development.
