Carol Hintz, Vice Chancellor of Human Resources at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Receives CUPA-HR’s Distinguished Service Award

Carol Hintz, vice chancellor of human resources at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, has been selected as the recipient of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) 2020 Distinguished Service Award. Thanks to the generous support of Kronos Incorporated, CUPA-HR is pleased to offer a $4,000 contribution to the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s endowment or a scholarship fund of Hintz’s choice.

In 2011, Hintz was selected to participate in the Emerging CUPA-HR Leader program, which prepares a select group of higher ed HR professionals for leadership roles within the association. After that time, she served in multiple positions on the CUPA-HR Midwest Region board of directors, including chair and representative on the national board of directors. She has served on CUPA-HR’s learning and professional development committee, and the budget and finance committee. In recent years, she has become involved in the Emerging CUPA-HR Leader program as a program chair and guide, helping to identify and lead other higher ed HR professionals into leadership positions with the association.

“Carol brings a unique perspective, expressing herself with candor and tact, and empowering other professionals to do the same in spreading the importance of HR,” said Kelli Shuman, associate vice president and chief human resources officer at Elon University and current chair of the Emerging CUPA-HR Leaders program. “Those of us who serve with her, as well as the CUPA-HR membership as a whole, have the great privilege of learning and growing from her leadership.”
