The CUPA-HR Workforce Planning Tool
for 2020

This tool is a CUPA-HR members-only resource meant to be completed by your higher education institution's chief HR officer or their selected designee. Only higher ed member institutions that complete the survey have access to the results.

As plans for recovery progress, CUPA-HR members want to know how other institutions are dealing with budget cuts, anticipated declines in enrollment, policy changes, and the possibility of ongoing remote work in fall 2020. The goal of this free resource is to provide our higher ed HR community with a central location for housing this information to reference as needed in the months ahead.

14 Minutes of Your Time

This tool has been developed and vetted by CUPA-HR members to quickly collect general information, where known, as well as the status of specific changes on your campus (implemented, planned, or as-yet undecided). If you don't yet know all the answers, that's fine — the survey is meant to be updated as plans evolve.* Once your institution has completed the survey, you will have access to responses from all participating institutions.* Estimated time to complete the survey is 14 minutes.

If you have any questions before completing this survey, direct them to [email protected].

*Details on how to view all responses and update your institution's responses will be provided in an email after you submit your institution's information for the first time.

A Note About Data Confidentiality

This survey does not collect data on salaries, specific positions, specific employees, or other sensitive information that would violate safe harbor guidelines or CUPA-HR's confidentiality standards. This is a communication tool, and results will be displayed along with the institution name so that participants can see what changes their peers are planning or implementing.

Only CUPA-HR members at higher ed institutions can provide data for this tool, and only those who provide data can access the results in unit record format (data associated with the institution name). CUPA-HR may decide in the future to make some aggregated data public, but public-facing information will not have institution names associated.
