Congratulations to Our Award Recipients!

2020 Higher Education HR Awards

The 2020 Higher Education HR Awards:
Celebrating a Year of Inspired HR Leadership

Each year, CUPA-HR recognizes the leadership, dedication and best practices demonstrated by higher ed HR professionals, teams and champions across the country. Typically, award recipients are announced in the summer and receive their awards at CUPA-HR’s annual conference the fall. It’s one of the great highlights of our conferences — a time for us to acknowledge among a hall full of peers the incredible work being done to transform HR in our colleges and universities.

A Different Kind of Year

Like so many other things in 2020, our plans for this fall veered off course with COVID-19, and we found ourselves re-imagining how we celebrate and present the awards. Instead of a ballroom packed with more than 1,000 colleagues, our venues are small but enthusiastic Zoom meetings. What’s more, because no one has had to travel to attend, entire HR teams and even presidents and chancellors have been able to join the celebrations for their institutions.

Although, we couldn’t invite all of you to join our presentation calls, we have summarized the outstanding contributions and programs that were recognized in this special digital issue of Higher Ed HR Magazine. Please take a few minutes to read and be inspired. You may even find a few ideas to implement at your own institution! Many of the articles also include links to explore additional details about our award recipients.

Do You Know Someone Doing Award-Worthy Work?

CUPA-HR invites nominations for the Higher Education HR Awards beginning in January each year. In addition to an engraved award and national recognition, awards include a monetary contribution to the award recipient’s institution, made possible through the generous support of our award sponsors.
