2021 Higher Education HR Awards

CUPA-HR’s National Chapter Excellence Award
Goes to the New York Metro Chapter

CUPA-HR’s Chapter Excellence Award recognizes a CUPA-HR chapter that is making a significant impact through its commitment to the association and to the higher ed HR community. The CUPA-HR New York Metro Chapter received the Chapter Excellence Award for pivoting its work to connect with local and regional members at virtual events to build a sense of community and belonging during COVID-19.

Some of the chapter’s impactful virtual events were a diversity, equity and inclusion panel, an event with a local law firm that guided attendees in best practices to keep workplaces safe during the pandemic and to stay in compliance with applicable laws, and an event recognizing the accomplishments made during 2020 of individual institutions within the chapter. In addition to these events, the New York Metro Chapter expanded its board, boosted its social media presence, and continues to actively work to connect members to share know-how with one another and with chapter sponsors.

The recipient of the national Chapter Excellence Award is selected from the recipients of CUPA-HR’s four regional Chapter Excellence Awards. This year’s regional award recipients were the Wisconsin, Tennessee, Lone Star and New York Metro chapters.
