When determining a prevailing wage determination (PWD) for administrative, professional and faculty positions, understanding and adhering to the relevant Department of Labor (DOL) regulations and guidance is vital. Yet, obtaining a realistic and usable PWD from the DOL can be both time-consuming and challenging. To expedite the process, many higher ed institutions are taking advantage of the DOL regulation that permits the use of certain employer-provided surveys (including CUPA-HR’s salary surveys) for determining PWDs.
