The multiple crises of the last several years have left many with a sense of grief, hopelessness and loss, resulting in unprecedented mental health challenges for employees everywhere. Meeting these challenges will require that all levels of campus leaders assess their concepts of leadership through a more trauma-informed lens. In this webinar, Dr. Jason Lynch, assistant professor of higher education and executive editor of the Journal of Trauma Studies in Education, will discuss how to deepen leadership skills through the incorporation of trauma-informed care. Specifically, attendees will learn how to:

  • Define traumatic stress and describe the multiple ways in which trauma may be experienced within higher education.
  • Discuss the body’s trauma response system’s impact on human behavior and psychology.
  • Reframe problematic employee issues through a trauma-informed lens.
  • Integrate elements of trauma-informed care into their leadership practice.
