“Keeping Campuses Safe: A New Normal”

Thursday, March 7 | 1:00-3:30 p.m. ET

Sponsored by

$95 for CUPA-HR Members | $195 for Nonmembers

Given the unpredictability of a crisis, can a campus truly prepare for an active shooter or other workplace violence? It can, and it must have a plan and essential measures in place, including partnerships with other departments and stakeholders, to ensure that the response to a threat is swift and effective.

This virtual workshop will focus on:

  • Responding to violence in the workplace
  • The role of HR in the event of a violent situation
  • Specific incidences and assessing the safety-related practices and policies used
  • Creating a campus emergency action plan
  • Assessing after an event how well people were prepared and well it was handled
  • How a campus healed after a violent situation

Join the presenters as they address ways to keep communities safe, and discuss efforts that are achievable and necessary. Time will be reserved for attendees to also share their campus practices and suggestions for keeping campuses safe.
