Virtual Workshops

Detecting Systemic Bias in Talent Practices

 Thursday, April 7 | 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. ET

This workshop recording is only available to those who registered to attend the live workshop.

Join Dr. Aarti Shyamsunder and Pooja Shahani for an encore presentation of their popular 2021 virtual workshop! Identifying and addressing systemic bias in long-established practices is critical to the continuation of an institution’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. In this virtual workshop, based on the popular seminar “Metamorphosis,” participants will learn how they can enhance their institution’s approach to DEI work by:

  • Identifying how bias is embedded in higher ed systems and cultures
  • Applying a multi-level model of inclusion
  • Learning to diagnose and interrupt systemic and historic barriers to DEI
  • Using practical, evidence-based methods to improve accessibility for all

"The information provided was excellent and I am excited to begin to apply what I learned and the resources provided. The case studies provided great examples and were helpful! Thank you!"

"The presenters today were knowledgeable about and sensitive to the topic. They created a supportive learning environment with useful questions for audience members to take back to their work teams."
