Boost Your Pay Equity Know-How By Tapping Into These Resources
Today, March 24, is Equal Pay Day. Originated by the National Committee on Pay Equity, Equal Pay Day is meant to bring awareness to how far into the year women working full-time must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.
One way CUPA-HR strives to build awareness around pay equity is by creating resources that equip higher ed institutions to promote pay equity. Whether it’s a webinar, research publication, toolkit or challenge, these resources will help boost your equity know-how and spark action on your campus to create a more equitable workplace for women:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of pay equity by visiting CUPA-HR’s Equal Pay Act Toolkit. The toolkit provides resources on the history and background of equal pay and policies, practices and salary-setting guidance from member institutions.
- Learn about the importance of pay equity, the process of conducting a pay equity analysis at your institution, follow-up steps for your institution to address inequities and prevent future ones, and examples of institutions that have successfully performed pay equity analyses by watching the webinar, “Seize the Day for Achieving Pay Equity in Higher Ed.“
- Read CUPA-HR research on pay equity, representation and next steps in one of our research briefs. There are several to choose from: Representation and Pay of Women of Color in the Higher Education Workforce; The Gender Gap and the Representation of Women in Higher Education Administrative Positions: The Century So Far; and Representation and Pay of Women and Minorities in Higher Ed Administration: Institutions That Are Getting It Right.
- Participate in CUPA-HR’s two new upcoming challenges: Women’s Issues and Challenges and the LGBTQ Equity Challenge. Look for challenge details to be posted in the coming months.
