City Information
Named as one of the “Top 10 Cities in the U.S. and Canada” by Travel + Leisure Magazine and a “Best Southern City” by Southern Living Magazine, Savannah was originally laid out in a grid pattern by the city’s founding father, General James Oglethorpe (a name you’ll know after spending only a short time in Savannah’s Historic District). Today, visitors can still enjoy the result of that early urban planning with a stroll through The Squares — 21 iconic symbols of this Southern-charmer city. And, there’s enough historic charm in Savannah for a second (and even a third) helping!
In Savannah, you’ll not only get your fill of valuable professional development at the 2012 CUPA-HR Southern Region Conference, you’ll experience extraordinary architecture, breathtaking moss-covered oak trees, shops and art galleries (where budding artists from the Savannah College of Art and Design display their work) and mouth-watering fare for any taste — and that’s a recipe for success!
