The Value and Benefits of CUPA-HR Membership

Higher Ed Research

  • Institutional members receive one complimentary salary survey report (a $340 value), plus member rates on other salary and benefits survey reports in which they’ve participated.
  • Institutional members who participate in our surveys also save (up to $530!) on DataOnDemand, which lets you run reports using peer comparison groups so you get the data you want, when you want it. Compare peer institutions, athletic conferences, position or even your region or affiliation.
  • CUPA-HR — considered by most to be the national authority on higher ed compensation research — conducts eight annual surveys:
    • Staff Salary Surveys
      • Administrative Compensation Survey
      • Mid-Level Administrative and Professional Salary Survey
      • Executive Total Compensation Survey
    • Faculty Salary Surveys
      • National Faculty Salary Survey for Four-Year Institutions
      • Two-Year College Faculty Salary Survey
      • Contigent Faculty Salary Survey
    • Comprehensive Survey of College and University Benefits Programs
    • HR Benchmarking and Workforce Planning Survey

Public Policy News and Advocacy

  • CUPA-HR not only proactively educates and informs national legislators and regulators about workforce issues that impact higher education, but also provides updates on those issues in its monthly eNews e-mail and periodic Washington Insider Alert e-mails to keep you up to date on what’s happening in our nation’s capital.*
  • Among the many issues CUPA-HR’s public policy team worked on during the 111th Congress were the Employee Free Choice Act, the Healthy Families Act, genetic discrimination, immigration/employee verification and ADA reform.

* In addition to on-going efforts by CUPA-HR to keep its members aware of developments in public policy, the association sometimes incurs expenses to advocate on behalf of its members. These advocacy expenses are categorized by not-for-profit organizations as 501(h) activities and are a negligible portion (.19%) of CUPA-HR’s total dues revenue.
