CUPA-HR Community Service & Outreach

Whether we’re improving our local communities, providing assistance to those impacted by devastating storms, or making an impact in the global community, CUPA-HR is committed to reaching beyond the workplace to improve the quality of life for others.

CUPA-HR Cares

Sponsored by TIAA-CREF

Each year, CUPA-HR partners with a charitable organization in the city where CUPA-HR’s annual conference will take place. Together, we coordinate a service project for conference attendees. In 2010, we collaborated with Hands on New Orleans to paint murals and assemble desk furniture for local schoolchildren. In 2011, we’ll be working with Clean the World in Orlando to recycle soap products to send to impoverished countries worldwide and homeless shelters in the United States. See the conference website for details.

Community Service and Outreach Award

Sponsored by Fidelity Investments

Rooted in CUPA-HR’s ongoing commitment to service and volunteerism, the Community Service and Outreach Award was created to recognize the efforts of institutions to engage their employees through community service and outreach. Its intent is to applaud these programs and to share them with other institutions as examples of excellence. The institution selected for the award each year will receive not only national recognition, but also a $10,000 contribution to its endowment.

National Office Outreach

CUPA-HR’s national office in Knoxville, Tennessee, has 22 employees who represent various communities in and around Knoxville. We volunteer as animal advocates, scout leaders, community event planners, church leaders and more. As a group, we also collect food and supplies to benefit local charities.
